July 2026
Get Involved. Give Back. Lead Forward.
As we head into the back-to-school season, we're also entering an exciting time for our Association, with plenty of opportunities to get involved, give back, and help shape the future of NAAR.
The most important opportunity is right in front of us: NAAR is now accepting nominations for the 2027 Board of Directors, and the deadline to apply is August 1. If you've ever considered serving in a leadership role, I encourage you to take that next step. Our Association is strongest when members with diverse experiences and fresh perspectives choose to get involved. Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about being willing to serve, collaborate, and help move our profession forward.
We're also excited that Arizona REALTORS® committee applications are now open, offering another great way to make an impact at the state level while growing your leadership skills and professional network.
Giving back is another important part of who we are. Our Community Outreach Committee is collecting backpacks and school supplies to support the Kuttz Barbershop & Barber/Beauty College 9th Annual Back-to-School Backpack & Haircut Giveaway. I hope you'll consider donating and helping local students start the school year with confidence.
Finally, be sure to read through this month's newsletter as we celebrate the accomplishments and milestones of several of our outstanding members!! We have so much to be proud of as an Association!
Thank you for your continued commitment to our profession and our community. I hope you'll consider getting involved, stepping into leadership, and submitting your nomination for the 2027 Board of Directors. Your voice matters, and together we can continue building a stronger NAAR.

This month, we're proud to spotlight Melissa MacFerren, Sales Manager (NMLS# 914787) with CMG Home Loans, whose passion for helping clients achieve homeownership has been driving her work since 2012.
After spending 15 years in commercial insurance, Melissa returned to Flagstaff when her longtime friend, Erin Moore, invited her to join the mortgage industry. What began as an opportunity to work alongside a trusted friend has grown into a successful partnership built on personalized service and creative lending solutions.
Melissa believes every client deserves more than a one-size-fits-all approach. She takes the time to understand each person's complete financial picture, listening closely to their goals and challenges before designing a mortgage strategy tailored to their unique needs. Whether it's finding the right loan product or thinking outside the box to overcome obstacles, Melissa loves discovering solutions that help clients accomplish what they didn't think was possible.
The most rewarding part of her career is helping first-time homebuyers—especially those who are becoming the first homeowners in their family's history. For Melissa, there's nothing more fulfilling than handing over the keys to someone who is building generational wealth and creating opportunities for future generations. Helping clients navigate the lending process and watching them realize a dream they once thought was out of reach is what inspires her every day.
Melissa and Erin welcome the opportunity to help fellow REALTORS® and their clients explore financing options with a personalized, solutions-focused approach. If you have a client who could benefit from creative lending strategies, don't hesitate to reach out to The Moore-MacFerren Group.

Agent Passwords & Member Security
As REALTORS®, we handle sensitive information every day. Because we’re always on the move and working from our phones, tablets, and laptops, keeping that data secure is absolutely critical. Here are four simple ways to keep your business and client info secure:
1. Use Strong, Unique Passphrases
Skip weak or reused passwords. Instead, create a memorable passphrase made up of random words, and use a different password for every account. If one account is compromised, the rest stay protected.
2. Secure Your Mobile Devices
Your phone is your mobile office. Enable auto-lock after 30–60 seconds of inactivity and always lock your device when you step away.
3. Use a Password Manager
A password manager generates strong passwords, stores them securely, and autofills them when you log into your accounts.
4. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second verification step. Even if someone steals your password, they still can't access your accounts. With real estate wire fraud on the rise, protecting your email helps safeguard your clients and their transactions.
Note: Violation fines collected by NAAR are used to fund community support activities. NAAR does not benefit from MLS fines and would like to see the number of fines reduced!
