Creating Opportunity for All: EDI Strong at NAAR
In this month’s episode, Michelle Linton, President of the Northern Arizona Association of Realtors (NAAR), discusses the importance of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in real estate with co-chairs of the NAAR EDI committee, Ventrice McMaster and Arin Wheeler. They emphasize the need for fair housing practices and resources, such as down payment assistance and city land trust programs, to make homeownership accessible to all. The committee's initiatives include a Youth Art Exhibition, scholarships to increase diversity in real estate, and sponsorships of events like Pride and the Mountain Film Festival. They stress the importance of continuous education and awareness to overcome biases and promote inclusivity in the community.

To help our members navigate recent updates to NAR policies, NAAR created a detailed Understanding NAR Policy Changes resource that breaks down key understandings for Clear Cooperation, Coming Soon, Delayed Marketing Exempt Listings, and Office Exclusive listings. By outlining MLS requirements and answering common questions, NAAR provides clarity on how these changes impact everyday real estate practices. This document ensures members have the knowledge and tools they need to stay compliant and best serve their clients.

New! Agent Violation Reporting Form Now Available Online

For this reason, NAAR has introduced a new Agent Violation Reporting Form, now available on our website, as a quick, easy, and anonymous option for our members to report violations. Safety First: Tips and Resources from NAR
The goal of NAR’s REALTOR® Safety Program is to educate members about the potential dangers you face on the job, so you are not only aware, but also prepared to keep yourself safe and reduce the risks, so you come home safely to your family every night. This is done by creating and implementing a Safety Strategy that you follow every day, with every client, every time.
NAR has compiled tips and best practices from subject matter experts, law enforcement, and industry veterans to help keep REALTOR® safe. View the resources on the REALTOR® Safety Tips from NAR webpage.
Examples include:
• Always meet new clients at the office or in a neutral location, like a coffee shop
• Share your schedule with a colleague, assistant, or family member
• Communicate safety concerns on your listing (poor cell phone signal, etc.)
• Do not overshare about your personal life
• Do not host open houses alone
• Check your cell phone battery and signal before heading to an appointment
• Direct clients to walk in front of you when touring a property, do not lead them
• Never go into attics, crawl spaces, or garages where you could be trapped

MLS Rules and Regulations Reminder
Attention Agents: As a reminder, you are REQUIRED to provide the CBS code to our Affiliate Supra Keyholder members upon request.
To find the CBS code using the Supra eKEY app:
1. Open the app
2. Select My Keyboxes
3. Choose the keybox you want the code for
4. Select Program Keybox
5. The CBS code will be under Keybox Settings: Require CBS Code
Supra eKey MLS Rule:
14.2.3 Keys may not be used under any circumstances by anyone other than the keyholder, including, but not limited to, lending, borrowing, or sharing keys with others.
Fine for violation of this rule: $1000 for the first offense.
Note: Violation fines collected by NAAR are used to fund community support activities. NAAR does not benefit from MLS fines and would like to see the number of fines reduced!
