Celebrating Diversity & Fair Housing Month through Art and Film

Student Artist, Matthew Broadbent: “They all share the same heart.”

FLAGSTAFF, AZ – In collaboration with Creative Flagstaff, Downtown Business Alliance, and The Northern Arizona Association of REALTORS® Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Committee, youth artists will have the opportunity to have their artwork displayed as a part of the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival, April 13-16, 2023.

The festival highlights a collection of some of the most inspiring and thought-provoking social, environmental, outdoor-adventure, and indigenous films from around the world. For the past 20 years, outdoor and film enthusiasts have enjoyed this weekend of cultural immersion while soaking up the breathtaking beauty of Northern Arizona.

During the 21st annual Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival, finalists from the “Through My Eyes” youth art contest will have their art displayed at The HeArt Box during gallery hours 12-6pm April 13-15 and 10am-4pm April 16. The contest prompted students, kindergarten through 12th grade, to respond to the theme by representing diversity in their community.

Partner agencies are excited to shine a light on youth artists and their unique personal perspectives in celebration of Diversity & Fair Housing Month. Support the creative works and voices of our community by joining them for the Youth Art Panel at The HeArt Box on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 10:00am - 11:00am.
